I switched to Trend about 7 or 8 years ago. But, never before I had scripts hunting the worms down and killing or at least wounding the worms already. I remember back in the day, when I was using Symantec and we kept getting hit with worms and everybody was searching the Internet for information on the worm of the day, Trend Micro always seamed to be the first with an answer. I like the new approach to this age old problem. What I liked about the Cylance demo and approach is that is it is more proactive, meaning you don't get hit in the first place, so there is never anything to react to or try to stop.
Problem is that most viruses build self preservation into themselves. So, IF you get hit it will notice the files getting encrypted and put a stop to it.
When they made their plea for me to stay by showing me their latest and greatest, it was still a product that works on definitions in a reactionary model. Yes, we got hit with Cryptolocker a few times at a couple of different offices.
